At Dineo Kittens Home, your kitten’s health and happiness are our highest priorities. We are committed to ethical breeding practices and take every precaution to ensure our kittens are strong, well-socialized, and free from hereditary or infectious diseases. Please review our Health Guarantee below, which outlines your rights and responsibilities as a new pet owner, as well as the reassurances we offer when you welcome a kitten into your home.
1. General Health Assurance
All kittens from Dineo Kittens Home will:
- Be a minimum of 7 weeks old before leaving our care.
- Receive age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming.
- Be thoroughly examined by a certified, licensed veterinarian prior to departure.
- Be free from signs of contagious illnesses at the time of sale.
- Be accompanied by an official veterinary health certificate.
2. Initial Health Guarantee (72 Hours)
Upon collection or delivery:
- You have 72 hours (3 days) to have your kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian at your own expense.
- If your veterinarian discovers a life-threatening, contagious illness or a severe congenital defect during this period, you must notify us within 24 hours of the exam.
- With supporting documentation from your veterinarian, you may:
- Return the kitten for a full refund or replacement (if available).
- Alternatively, if you choose to keep the kitten, we may assist with reasonable veterinary expenses related to the condition, at our discretion.
3. Hereditary & Congenital Conditions
- We guarantee our kittens to be free from fatal hereditary/congenital disorders for one year from the date of adoption.
- If your kitten is diagnosed with a hereditary/congenital condition during this time, confirmed by two independent licensed veterinarians, we will:
- Offer a replacement kitten of equal value from the next available litter, OR
- Refund up to the kitten’s purchase price if returned, as agreed mutually.
- This guarantee does not cover minor or treatable conditions, or those that do not affect the pet’s life expectancy or quality of life.
4. Buyer’s Responsibilities
To maintain the validity of this guarantee, you must:
- Take your kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of receiving him/her.
- Provide your kitten with regular veterinary checkups, vaccinations, preventive treatments, and proper diet and care.
- Not have your kitten declawed, as this can lead to behavioral and health complications.
- Not resell, abandon, or surrender the kitten without first notifying Dineo Kittens Home (we will always assist in finding a suitable home if you are unable to keep your kitten).
5. Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover:
- Minor, self-limiting, or treatable conditions such as parasites, mild upper respiratory infections, or non-life-threatening illnesses.
- Illnesses caused by neglect, injury, accident, improper care, or exposure to unvaccinated animals after leaving our premises.
- Stress-related conditions such as minor digestive upsets, as acclimation to a new home can temporarily impact health.
- FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), FeLV (Feline Leukemia), or FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), as these can be contracted after leaving our cattery.
6. Return/Replacement Policies
- If a refund or replacement is agreed upon, the original kitten must be returned to Dineo Kittens Home with all registration forms, veterinary records, and associated documentation.
- Travel/transportation fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
7. Lifelong Support
Dineo Kittens Home is always available for advice, guidance, or support regarding your kitten’s health and well-being.
